Maximus Kanounji's Eagle Scout Project

My name is Maximus Kanounji, a 16-year-old Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, striving to reach the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout. For my Eagle Scout project, I have taken on an ambitious and impactful initiative that aims to significantly enhance the gardening and educational capabilities of Pasadena High School's Green Club.

Project Overview:

The essence of my project is to construct two raised planter garden beds, complete with a protective cage (dimensions: 12ft. wide x 16ft. long x 7ft. tall), and to undertake the painting of a 100 ft. long fence surrounding Pasadena High School's Garden. This garden serves as a crucial educational and environmental resource, managed with care by the Green Club under the guidance of Mr. Michealsen, who also leads a gardening class.

Purpose and Impact:

The introduction of these raised planter beds is not merely a structural enhancement. It represents a vital educational tool for students in Mr. Michealsen’s gardening class and members of the Green Club. By learning to cultivate their own gardens within these raised beds, students can acquire hands-on gardening skills, understand the significance of sustainability, and foster a closer connection with nature.

The need for this project stems from a clear requirement for additional raised planter beds to prevent animals from hindering the growth of the garden. Moreover, it aims to expand the educational scope of the garden by utilizing extra space effectively, allowing more students to engage in and learn from this green space.
