In loving memory of Maxim Slobodian @maximignite

Our beloved Maksym Slobodian departed on his final flight on Saturday the 16th of July 2022 whilst wingsuit base jumping in Switzerland. Maxim was not only an amazing Skydiver / Base jumper but also an amazing human being, son, friend and brother. Maxim, unfortunately, lost his mother at a very young age and did not maintain a close relationship with his father. However, Maxim remained very close to his little sister Daria (currently 17), who was/ is entirely dependent on Maxim. Therefore, we will dedicate this fundraiser to helping Daria relocate herself out of Ukraine and start a new life.
In Maxim’s words, he was on a mission to “Share the sky with 7,753,000,000 souls, " which he would do by posting his skydiving/wingsuiting achievements on social media. Maxim did not see skydiving as a ‘means to an end', but rather as an ‘end’ in itself.
Maxim was born in Ukraine, where he enrolled in a military parachuting program at the age of 13; with his first taste of flight, he knew exactly what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, a few years later, Maxim’s mother became terminally ill and gave Maxim no choice but to dedicate his time to looking after her. After her passing, Maxim was devastated, however, he never gave up. Soon after her passing, he spontaneously enrolled in a reality tv show similar to ‘American ninja warrior’ but based in Ukraine. Max immediately won the hearts and respect of the audience as he was deemed a ‘superhero’ for winning the contest against all odds, with a broken leg, and simultaneously waiting for injured teammates. This victory would mark a major turn in events for Maxim, as the prize money would be sufficient to fund his journey to America and allow him to pursue his dreams.
Maxim landed in America knowing almost no English, and was sleeping in a tent as he began his endeavor, venturing deeper into the world of skydiving. Maxim was not only recognized as a gifted skydiver, but also as a larger-than-life persona. Maxim treated everyone equally, with the same passion, love and excitement to be alive, which resulted in him being loved back by everyone in return. Maxim would develop lifelong friendships in LA, Sacramento, and Florida with people who shared his passions and values. He would achieve many accomplishments in the world of skydiving and videography.
Maxim would eventually start a new chapter of his life living in Dubai, in which he would continue to do what he loved and push his skydiving to a new level. He would also make new friendships which would soon become family. Maxim was working on a secret wing suiting project that was supposed to show homage to his beloved country Ukraine, and as a result, he gave his life while training for it.
We are all absolutely devastated by Maxim’s passing, we mean it when we say that we may never come across another human being that had so much love in their heart, a burning desire to live and was determined to achieve their goals that they would risk everything for it. We cannot speak on Maxim’s behalf, but anybody close to Maxim knew that the two things that mattered most to him in the world were skydiving and his sister Daria. Since we cannot help with skydiving anymore, the only thing we can help with is supporting Daria during this extremely difficult time.
