Max's STARBand Helmet Fund
Donation protected
My son Maxim was recently diagnosed with plagiocephaly (abnormal shaping of the head, usually presented as flat spots) and torticollis (a condition preventing full range of motion in his neck). Normal cranial vault asymmetry/diagonal difference is less than 6mm - Max's was 11.2 which is considered severe. As a result, he will need to wear a STARband helmet for up to 3 months which should provide great results, but you have to catch it early to see change quicker. He is now 5 months old, which is an ideal age to start. If we opted not to fix this, it could result in developmental delays, asymmetry in his face, and his ears could move forward causing jaw issues later.
Because we have not yet met our deductible, we will have to pay the full price of the helmet which is a little over $2000. In addition, I recently have been laid off from my job as a result of COVID-19, so money is very tight.
It is so important that we get Max started with his helmet as soon as possible, and I would hate to have money be the reason we can't start now. If you do have it in your heart to give, even if it's a small amount, I would be forever thankful.
Thank you!
