Max's medical bills - Jackie's dog
Donation protected
Jackie is a nurse that works in my office and she has gone through a lot this past year. She is one of the best nurses I have worked with for 8 years. She recently lost her husband of 35 years, Jim, which was pretty tough. Their beloved dog Max would not leave Jim's side when his health had deteriorated and finally failed him.
For the past year, Max hasn't left Jackie's side now and has help her through some of the most difficult time in her life with losing her husband. Now about a month ago Jackie notice Max having bloody urination. The vet thought this was a urinary tract infection and he was sent home on antibiotics. Then this past week, Max started to have problems not eating and didn't seem to be doing well. Jackie returned back with Max to see the veterinarian who notice he had a large mass on his abdomen. With further imaging this mass was fairly large and was obstructing some of his organs. He was essentially sent immediately to a more advance hospital in Iowa City. There they had done some blood test and more imaging. What we found out is Max has one kidney only which he was born with. This kidney started to be compromised because the ureter was not functioning well and the veterinarians reported that he was born with this. The only kidney he has is now not functioning well until they open the ureter up and reconnect it to the right spot on his bladder. The doctors have told Jackie that even if the procedure went well it isn't guarantee that his kidney will recover. Since he is still young he has a fighting chance and Jackie decided to go ahead with the procedure whatever the cost. She is willing to make payments and tried to save or extend Max's life.
This is heartbreaking because first Jackie lost the love of her life last year and now his dog is dying with out the needed help. We are just asking for just a little help to cover the medical expenses that will go directly to the hospital, the surgery and recover. Please help Max get a chance to extend his life. Please help Jackie with the financial burden. Any donation will help lighten her load.
Sincerely,
Brett
