Hi, my name is Max Page, and I’m directing my senior thesis film at Loyola Marymount University called Lub Dub.

This story is incredibly personal to me. I was born with Congenital Heart Disease, and growing up around hospitals, surgeries, and uncertainty shaped how I see the world. Lub Dub is inspired by those experiences and tells the story of a family waiting for a child’s heart transplant. It focuses on the quiet, human moments that happen in hospital rooms and waiting areas.

About 1 in 100 children are born with congenital heart disease, yet the emotional reality families face is rarely shown on screen. Through this film, I want to tell an honest story about fear, resilience, humor, and love in the moments before everything changes.

As part of LMU’s senior thesis program, we’re raising funds to cover essential production costs like equipment, set design, meals for cast and crew, and festival submissions so we can share this story with a wider audience.
