Coach Heidi's Dad, Max Okenfuss Needs Your Help!

Hello Everyone,

Coach Heidi, from Legacy Gymnastics, is a close friend of ours. Coach Heidi has dedicated herself and her time to supporting kids and young adults in the gymnastic community for a large part of her life. We would love to be able to give back and support Coach Heidi as she navigates through these next steps of uncertainty with her dad Max Okenfuss' recent news.

Our hope for this fundraiser is to help Heidi's dad Max, defray the costs of medical care while he deals with late-stage Parkinson's and late-stage heart failure. Although Max served his country in the Air Force, he never saw "war time," so he is not eligible for veteran's benefits and has been denied for palliative care. Medicare/Medicaid are not even scratching the surface towards covering his bills, which easily exceed $8,000 per month. While Max is stable for the moment, he needs substantial help with daily activities as his physical abilities decline.

Max's wishes are to remain in his apartment with full time care for whatever amount of time he has left to live. Coach Heidi simply cannot take the next year off to personally provide 24/7 care for her father and has found herself at her wit's end trying to juggle helping her dad, without bailing on her husband and all of her athletes!

Any support that you can offer is greatly appreciated and honestly priceless. Whatever funds are raised will be used to cover medical bills, as well as honor Max's wish of spending the time he has left in a place that provides him comfort. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
