This is Max. His birthday is April 20th and he is about to turn five years old. He is the absolute love of my life. I would do anything for this kitty.

Yesterday, on April 16th, I arrived home from college to see that Max isn’t acting like his normal self. My mom said she hasn’t noticed anything wrong with him, but she works a lot, so it would be hard for her to tell. Usually, when I call his name, he makes a loud meow as a greeting. When I called his name yesterday, it was silent. I then let him inside from our little catio outside and saw that his tail was drooped and he was walking very slowly. Normally, he always has his tail sticking straight up and is very energetic. When I saw these things, I knew something was wrong.

Later that day, he tried using the bathroom several times, but nothing came out. He was straining so much and it looked like he was in pain. Today, I saw the same thing happen. I want to take him to the vet, but we don’t have insurance and we cannot afford it out of pocket right now. I made this GoFundMe so I can be able to afford the medical bills after I take him to the vet today. Anything is appreciated. Thank you so much.

UPDATE 1: Max has a urinary blockage. I have taken him to the vet and he will be there for three days. They are giving him fluids through an IV to hydrate him. He also has a urinary catheter in and is being given fluids to flush the blockage out. The amount I have to pay wasn’t as high as I expected, so I lowered the goal. Anything helps us! And we appreciate the help!
