Max Mendoza's Mitzvah Project

Covid-19 affected the south side of Chicago especially nursing homes. The health care workers who care for nursing home patients have a very difficult job because patients have many problems and with Covid-19 these workers also were at risk for catching this virus. I thought to show gratitude to these health care workers by raising money to pay for food to be delivered to the workers during a shift at a nursing home called South Suburban Rehabilitation Center. I learned more about my parents work from this experience. My dad works in fund raising and helped me learn more about raising money for a good cause. My mom told me health workers really are thankful for food deliveries during their shift because it helps them stay focused and appreciated. This helps them do a great job taking care of patients.
