In Memory of Will Ma & Support of his Mom
Donation protected
Shengxuan(Will) Ma’s 63-year-old mother has been retired from work. Now she lives alone in a remote village in Gansu province, China. Twenty years ago she lost her husband and now she lost her only child. The misfortune of her beloved son has torn his mother’s heart apart. Not only her mind is suffering but also her brittle body. She broke her ankle when she heard the loss of her son. At the meanwhile, as the only one left in her low-income family, she won't be able to afford visiting US to see her son for the last chance. Donations will be spent on her surgery, recovery and support of his mom.
Shengxuan Ma is a first-year master student in Master of Science in Communication Custom Leadership Program (MSC). He left China on September 8th, 2021 and headed over U.S. . Randall Iden, one of Will’s professors, was gracious enough to share the following remembrance: “He was a gentle and kind person who was generous with his time and counsel. He showed concern for his fellow students, and they have told me how interested he was in their well-being,” Randall said. “He was also a partner in a small business and talked often about using his Northwestern education to improve the communication aspects of the business. Although I only knew Will for five weeks, I was very fond of him and looked forward to seeing the kind of student, professional, and person that he would become. His death is a tragedy for all of us. We will miss him.”
*The fundraising is started by Northwestern Chinese Student and Scholar Association (CSSA) and organized by CSSA External Relationship Director Max Huang.
