Max Gonzalez - Medical Expense Fund

Donazione protetta

"Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me."

The family and friends of 10-year-old Maximiliano "Max" Gonzalez humbly ask for your prayers and donations. Max is a smart, quick-witted, fun-loving child who is full of life, but he is in desperate need of our support. Although he has always suffered from Asthma, he has never let it get him down. He is a typical curious young man who is dearly loved by his friends, and family.

December turned out to be a difficult month for Max as he battled what doctors told his mother was a virus. Max ran a fever for a couple of days, but dococtors told Max's mother that they were not overly concerned. She was given instructions to monitor him closely at home. Max's mother has always stayed on top of Max's health because of his Asthma, so he was in and out of both the emergency room and his pediatrician's office as she continued to seek assistance for him.

With Christmas right around the corner, what should have been a joyous time for Max and his family, quickly turned into a nightmare. On Friday, December 23rd at around 3 am Max began to complain of blurred vision, weakness, and vomiting. Max's parents wasted no time, and he was rushed to the emergency room in McAllen, Texas. While at McAllen Medical Center they performed various blood tests, and a CT scan. Doctors were baffled by Max's sudden decline and transferred him by helicopter to Corpus Christi's Driscoll Children's Hospital. In Corpus, it was determined that Max had suffered a rare stroke, and the hospital felt that Max needed more specialized care, so he was transferred again by helicopter to the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston where he remains at this time.

It has been determined that Max has suffered at least partial damage to his brain and that he will require an extreme amount of rehabilitation upon his dismissal. He is currently in the ICU on a ventilator being treated by the top pediatric neurologist in Texas.

We remain faithful that God will see Max and his family through this difficult time, but the expenses of hotel rooms, gas, and meals have already begun to pile up. Max's mother Selina is a stay-at-home mother, and Max's father Jorge is a truck driver. We are creating this GoFundMe page as a way of collecting donations to lessen the load on the Gonzalez family, and allow them to focus their attention on the care and health of their son. If you can find it in your heart to donate, anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Please keep Max in your prayers. We believe that he is a child of Christ and that our prayers will lift him in strength and health. We thank you for your support.
