I have such a special favor to ask of you. If you know me, you know I am the biggest animal lover and have a knack for finding and rescuing beautiful creatures in need. This is an extra special case and I need help from you all to make a miracle happen <3

On December 3, 2023, I was driving Southbound on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit, and traffic slowed to a crawl. Cars were veering left and right, avoiding something in the middle lane. Being such a rainy day, I figured they were swerving to avoid debris from an accident, but to my surprise, it was a scared pup laying in the middle lane. I pulled up next to him, immediately parked and jumped out of my car. He had been hit by a car and could not walk. I could tell immediately he was such a sweet and gentle soul. Someone pulled up in front of me and hopped out to help me lift this 80lb dog into my back seat. Drivers were honking on either side but I did not care! I was determined to get this pup the help he needed, find his family and ensure he had a safe place to heal! I took him to the most affordable emergency vet I could find, which was nearly an hour from where I found him. While the vet was treating him, I found his family! I was connected to his owner, Shannon, through a dedicated community and animal advocate in Detroit. The day before, Shannon had posted the most regal picture of Max hoping for the safe return of her boy!

Max is in critical condition. His hip was severely dislocated from the collision, and he has significant internal bruising and a broken ankle. He is currently resting until he is stable enough to undergo surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery will cost up to $5,000!!! His family misses him so dearly and cannot afford the critical care he needs. Shannon recently lost her job because her unreliable car made it impossible to get to her job ! She has a 3 year old baby girl who loves Max so much, and cannot wait to have him home. I am assisting with payment through Carecredit, but I cannot take on the full cost either, so I am hoping if we share this post widely enough, we can get Max home to his loving family. He is such a sweet soul. Please help us get Max fixed up and home! Any extra funds that go beyond paying for the surgery will help Shannon and her family to get reliable transportation and the necessary help they need. <3
