For those of you lucky enough to know Max, you already know how incredibly strong and amazing he is.
For those that don't know him, Max is 8 years old and is in 3rd grade. He is a smart, brave, clever, and sweet kid who will blow your mind with what he knows. He's genuinely smarter than some full-grown adults and will go on to do great things.
Max also has life-altering epilepsy.
His parents, Peggy and Matt, have been the ultimate advocates for their firstborn; working tirelessly since 2019 to get him the best care possible to provide Max with some relief. All while continuing to work full time and raise Max and his little sister, Frankie.
Max has missed countless days of school, activities, and holidays because of epilepsy. Also, because of epilepsy, he has racked up an exhaustive list of hospital stays, surgeries, tests, procedures, and labs. Max has endured EEGs, MRIs, CTs, PET scans, MEG, IVs, brain surgery, along with many precautionary COVID-19 tests before his procedures.
Regardless of what epilepsy has thrown at him, Max has never felt sorry for himself and has not allowed it to rob him of his sunny disposition. Even while in the middle of his own hospital stays and treatments, he is always thinking of others before himself and continues to have the best, most positive outlook on life.
The next step in Max's journey is bringing them to Houston, TX to meet with new doctors to explore new options. Matt and Peggy will travel to Houston with Max, while leaving Frankie in the care of family members.
This is a family that has always been willing to help friends and family out however they can; this is our chance to give back to them. They deserve to receive the best care for Max and not have to worry about how it will impact them.
Any monetary support you can offer will be so appreciated and will go directly towards Max's family.
