Help Max and Elanor's Families with Unexpected Expenses
Donation protected
On Thursday, June 13, Eric and his spouse Martha were travelling from central Illinois with their 13 year old kid Max, and Max’s friend Elanor to a family reunion in Alabama when they were involved in a head-on collision in Huntsville, AL. They were all wearing their seatbelts; A pickup truck lost control, crossed the median and slammed into them going around 80 miles an hour. There was no time to react or get out of the way.
The adults were beat up and bruised, but were treated in the local ER and discharged by the following morning.
The kids both sustained multiple internal injuries and spinal fractures. They have both already had multiple surgeries. At this time, Elanor remains in Huntsville, where her family joined her early the morning after the accident. Max was airlifted to a children’s hospital in Birmingham where she continues to receive treatment. Both kids are stable and are making small amounts of progress every day. But they have long roads of recovery ahead of them.
We have unfortunately not learned any further information about the drivers of the other vehicle, or their condition, at this time.
This gofundme is targeted at raising money to support both families through the incredible expenses they have already accrued and will continue to accrue during this journey. These include lost wages, medical costs, accommodations, and more. At present, the plan is to split the money evenly, but we plan to review and adjust over time based on need.
