MAW Moalboal Animal Welfare è un rifugio per animali a Moalboal, Cebu (Filippine)/ MAW Moalboal Animal Welfare is an animal shelter located in Moalboal, Cebu (Philippines).

Il centro è nato 2 anni fa ma nel 2021 a causa del forte tifone “Odette” tutto il rifugio è stato completamente raso al suolo/ The center was born 2 years ago but in 2021 due to the strong typhoon "Odette" the whole refuge was completely razed to the ground.

A distanza di quasi 1 anno, sono riusciti però a ricostruire un centro più forte ed ampio di prima/After almost 1 year,

they managed to rebuild a stronger and larger center than before.

MAW è al momento costituito da 4 zone:

1. Cucina/ufficio

2. Zona cuccioli

3. Quarantena/ospedale

4. Zona adulti

MAW is currently made up of 4 zones:

1. Kitchen/office

2. Puppy area

3. Quarantine/hospital

4. Adult zone

Tutti i cani che vedete sono stati salvati dalla strada, magari trovati all’interno di sacchetti plastica come questi cuccioli/All the dogs you see have been rescued from the street, perhaps found inside plastic bags like these puppies.

Ma grazie alle cure veterinarie e all’impegno costante dei volontari, molti di loro hanno riacquistato la fiducia in noi umani e adesso hanno solo bisogno di tanto amore ed una casa/But thanks to veterinary care and the constant commitment of volunteers, many of them have regained their trust in humans and now they just need lots of love and a forever home.

MAW oltre ad offrire un posto sicuro per questi animali, fornisce un lavoro stabile e retribuito alle persone locali. Promuovendo non solo il benessere animale ma anche posti di lavoro per la comunità/MAW as well as offering a safe place for these animals, provides stable and paid work to local people. By promoting not only animal welfare but also jobs for the community.

Ma purtroppo, come tutti i canili qui nelle Filippine, anche Maw è finanziato solo dalle singole donazioni (non ricevendo nessun aiuto dallo stato)/But sadly, like all kennels here in the Philippines, Maw is funded only by individual donations (receiving no state aid).

Il centro è già al completo ma fuori per le strade ci sono ancora tanti animali in attesa di un posto/The center is already at its full capacity but out on the streets there are still many animals waiting for a place here in the shelter.

Il sogno è quello di ampliare il rifugio, per poter ospitare sempre più cani.

Il terreno circostante è già stato reso disponibile dalla città ma servono ad ogni modo fondi per poterlo affittare/The dream is to expand the shelter in order to accommodate more dogs. The surrounding land has already been made available by the city but they still need funds to be able to rent it.
