Mavs Service Dog Training

Hi my name is Ranee and I am fundraising to receive a service dog to help me gain a better quality of life while coping with PTSD, anxiety and depression. I am a mother of two and currently a college student and am working toward building a career. A service dog can be of great importance along this journey. Service dogs can be very expensive and the company I am working with requires a deposit before signing a contract and before training begins then the remaining amount is due before I can bring my service pet home.

The psychiatric service dogs perform a number of tasks for their owners:

Anxiety reduction through tactile stimulation

Bringing the owner back to the present through nudging or pawing .

Interrupting a behavioral state that’s undesirable .

Maintaining constant body contact .

Stimulation through deep pressure .

Blocking contact from other individuals .

These are among the many tasks that service dogs are specially trained for. Mental health is extremely important to me.
