Hi- This is our baby Maverick. He is about three years old and we have had him for two years now. He is such a loving, sweet boy who everyone loves that meets him.
I am making this a quick intro as time is ticking. Currently he has had increased issues throwing up food and just basically he hasn't been himself, especially the past 4 days and it was very concerning. We took him to the vet yesterday, 1.10.22 to see if they could figure out what was going on and we were told he needed to get to an ICU immediately as his white blood cell levels, and liver and kidney functions were dangerously out of whack and could be fatal if not taken care of immediately.
Cornell was the closest vet emergency hospital that would be able to help and had room to take him in. He has been there for over 24 hours getting stabilized and they have started to conduct tests to see if they can figure out what is going on and correct it.
As those of you who know us, our animals are our babies and honestly would do anything we could to help them. We know he has a shot and although it is an unexpected expense it is necessary. He is worth it and we hate to create one of these pages but the bill is estimated to be roughly $9,000.
I am between jobs right now and although we can put some on credit, that has a limit as well.
If you would like to contribute to Maverick's accumulating vet bills we would greatly appreciate anything you are able to give.
We believe he has a fighting chance and the more we can allow them to do, the better those chances are. The vets have told us he has already won the hearts of the staff there and he has suprised them as he is in pretty good spirits for his condition and that "he is certainly a fighter" which gives us hope.
Due to his condition there isn't much more they can do at this point so we are in the hurry up and wait stage- we hope to have some more answers within the next 48 hours.
We are trying to take it hour by hour. We also appreciate prayers and good vibes sent to him in hopes he is able to pull through.
Thank you
