Maverick Needs Life Saving Surgery

Maverick is the youngest of Melissa and Marco Dutra's three dogs. He is only 5 years old. After vomiting and not eating for the previous three days he was brought to Mass Vet in Woburn yesterday where he was diagnosed with a bowel blockage. While diagnosing the bowel blockage, the doctors also noticed something on his spleen. He had life-saving surgery to remove both the bowel blockage and his spleen. The spleen is being sent to pathology to determine if it is malignant or benign. The initial cost paid for the surgery was $7,500 and additional costs are expected for follow-up care.

All of Melissa and Marco's friends know how much they love animals, especially their three dogs, they are their babies. Melissa also volunteers with Missing Dogs Massachusetts and selflessly donates her time and resources to help owners and their fur babies during their most difficult days.  Now during her most difficult days, let's come together to support her, Marco and Maverick in any way possible.
