My dear husband, Maury, has been seriously ill for over 2 weeks. He was taken to the ER on 6/30/25 and was admitted to the MSICU that day. He has had some ups, but for the last week, everything has been getting worse. He is not waking up. After 2 weeks in ICU, his medical bills are racking up quickly. I'm still hopeful that he'll wake up, but even if he does, he likely won't be the same. If he is able to wake up, I will need to find round the clock help for him. Now he's having seizures and the doctors are working to solve that issue. Since he is still in the care of the doctors, this is an ongoing need. Once the medical bills are finalized, any additional funds provided would be donated to causes that are near and dear to Maury's heart. I understand that money can be tight for many of us, if you can donate as little as $5 it would help. Thank you so much!
UPDATE: after all the time that Maury has spent unresponsive and with a ventilator to help him breathe, I have made the very difficult decision to remove the ventilator and let him go. I know that he would not like to live on as a "vegetable" for any length of time. Thank you all for your support in this difficult time of my life. We were together for almost 18 years.
UPDATE 7/16/25: At 1:30am, my beloved husband passed away. While his battle is over now, mine has just begun. This is still fresh and new, and final costs have not even been tallied yet, but I know there will be bills for his stay in the ICU. I am also looking into cremation services that I can afford. This was unfortunately rather sudden and we had no life insurance. Although he served in the US Army as a young man and earned a purple heart for bravery, Maury was not eligible to receive VA benefits. Thank you all who are able to help!
