Hello Everyone,
My name is Mauro Mondragon Jr. I've been playing soccer since I was 6 years old and soccer has become a very important part of my life and future plans. I currently play with Greater Tampa Bay Futbol Club and have had the oportunity to play with my high school varsity team since my freshman year. Next year I graduate high shool a year early and would like to enphasize how my academics are just as important as my sports. I would like to recognize the hard work of my coaches Eddie and Novi for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of their team; it has been an honor to gain knowledge from you both.
I want to take the opportunity as well to thank everyone that help with my trip to Brasil in 2013, what a great experience that was! Not only did I learn different tactics and tricks but my confidence skyrocketed making a huge difference in my scoring ability.
Today I'm asking for your help again since I've been selected to participate in two incredible events that would get me closer to my dream of becoming a profesional soccer player. My first trip is to Spain and will take place in March, where I will be training with Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid for 10 days and I'm looking forward to making this an opportunity to showcase my skills and abilities in front of the most talented clubs in the world. My second trip will be to Medellin Colombia where my group (compossed of US U16 National Team Players, Region III, Florida ODP and Canadian National Team Players) will have the oportunity to play in a stadium setting against 4 Colombian Profesional youth academies (Deportivo Pereira, Atletico Nacional, Independiente Medellin and Deportes Quindio Armenia). The scheduled will be full of activities and we will only be 5 days in Medellin and 5 days in Pereira but I'm hoping it will give everyone of us an opportunity to forge new connections, to learn different things and to come back home with a renewed hunger to pursue our dream and passion with higher spectations of ourselves.
