Mauro Di Francesco's funeral

Hello, this is Livia, Mauro's wife. My husband is a kind, hard-working family man with 3 children ages 19 and twins of 7 years old. We came to Canada from Italy in 2016 and have been here on work permits since.

In early February 2024, Mauro was experiencing troubling symptoms as a result of a brain tumour the size of a golf ball. He received surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible, but the biopsy revealed an aggressive and late-stage glioblastoma. He has mostly been in the hospital since then and recently moved to palliative care, where he will remain until he passes away.

Mauro was the main income earner for our family for the last year as I have fibromyalgia. I am returning to work part-time between visiting Mauro in the hospital, supporting the kids, and coping with this devastating new reality.

The previous GoFundMe was closed against my wishes (https://www.gofundme.com/f/give-a-family-man-a-fighting-chance), but I am very appreciative of the donations I received. As the impact of losing Mauro is devastating to our family in so many ways, including financially, I am starting this GoFundMe myself for anyone who still wishes or is able to donate.

Any money donated will go towards funeral expenses as well as expenses for my family (rent, food, gas, kids expenses, etc.). We appreciate the financial support so that we can focus on the remaining time we have with Mauro and coping with the huge impact of this loss.
