Dear Family and Friends,

On behalf of the Trejo family, it is with profound sadness that we share the untimely passing of our beloved soccer star.

Mauricio was an incredible man, devoted husband, and loving father. Despite receiving his first cancer diagnosis in 2020, he never allowed it to define him or diminish his spirit. He continued doing what he loved most, including traveling to play soccer as an amputee, coaching the Fénix Women’s/Coed team and his son’s soccer team, while continuing to provide for his family through his hard work at Zera Construction. His strength, determination, and resilience were truly remarkable.

Mauricio touched the lives of many with his uplifting spirit and unwavering courage, fighting bravely until his very last moment. His love, kindness, and memory will forever live in our hearts.

During this difficult time, we humbly ask for your support as his family — Ana, Mauricio Jr., and Mia — navigate this heartbreaking loss and lay Mauricio to rest. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. Even your prayers are deeply appreciated.

All donations will go toward funeral expenses and helping support his wife and children during these uncertain times.

En nombre de la familia Trejo, con profunda tristeza compartimos el inesperado fallecimiento de nuestra querida estrella del fútbol.

Mauricio fue un hombre increíble, un esposo dedicado y un padre amoroso. A pesar de haber recibido su primer diagnóstico de cáncer en 2020, nunca permitió que esto lo definiera ni disminuyera su espíritu. Continuó haciendo lo que más amaba, incluyendo viajar para jugar fútbol como amputado, entrenar al equipo femenil/mixto de Fénix y al equipo de fútbol de su hijo, mientras seguía siendo el sustento de su familia a través de su arduo trabajo en Zera Construction. Su fortaleza, determinación y resiliencia fueron verdaderamente admirables.

Mauricio tocó la vida de muchas personas con su espíritu alegre y su valentía inquebrantable, luchando con fuerza hasta su último momento. Su amor, bondad y recuerdo vivirán por siempre en nuestros corazones.

Durante este momento difícil, humildemente pedimos su apoyo para que su familia — Ana, Mauricio Jr. y Mia — pueda atravesar esta dolorosa pérdida y darle a Mauricio el descanso que merece. Cualquier contribución, hará una diferencia. Incluso sus oraciones son profundamente apreciadas.
