Maurice's FIP treatment
Donation protected
My name is Lucas Blanchard-Glueckert, and I am raising money for Maurice (left) to receive treatment for Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). FIP is a mutation of a feline coronavirus that was, until recently, fatal and untreatable for cats. Fortunately, there is now a very effective treatment for FIP, although it is unfortunately fairly expensive. Overall, his 84-day treatment will cost up to $3,500 for the drugs alone, which is more than I can afford right now.
Maurice is a recent rescue through Flatbush Cats in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. Within a day of fostering him (after a month or so in FC's holding/veterinary space for street rescues) he was already out of his shell and demanding that any humans in the area scratch him on his little head.
He has quickly become a very devoted companion, and while he certainly has scars from his time living on the street (he has been diagnosed with FIV and he recently had to have 12 of his 30 teeth surgically removed due to infection), he has been a very happy and cuddly housecat.
I'm putting up this fundraiser in the hopes of getting some assistance in buying the drugs that will save his life, on top of which I've added the goal of paying for the $1,200 hospital visit that got him his diagnosis and drained the fluid that FIP caused to accrue in his abdomen.
Please enjoy these photos that I want you to look at whether or not you're planning to donate
