Maurice Marzouk’s fight against Glioblastoma

I would never think in a million years that my father…My precious father would be struck with the most Horrific, scary and traumatic diagnosis of his Life. In April of this year my father got hospitalized for Covid. Soon after, he started to have memory fog. He was having trouble remembering names, passwords and daily tasks. My whole family thought it was due to the affects of Covid but we soon learned we were gravely mistaken. On July 4, by the advice of family, my father got an MRI at Kaiser Permanente. It revealed a large Brain Tumor. Weeks went by without any Kaiser doctor calling or notifying my father of his diagnosis! His mental state was declining, that’s when my mom admitted him to the ER and got another CT scan. It showed that the tumor was growing. With the below satisfactory care and concern he was receiving from Kaiser we decided to take him to Cedar Sinai for a second opinion. The team at Cedar’s has given us hope for Surgery, immunotherapies and fighting this very aggressive type of cancer. The problem is Kaiser doesn’t have the expertise in this area that the second opinion Dr. at Cedar Sinai does. Since insurance won’t cover any other hospital and time is of the essense, we are forced to come out of pocket for the entire expense of this life saving surgery.
Maurice is a Husband, Father and Grandfather. We are asking for your help to assist the family with this huge financial burden that has been thrown upon us. Anything will help and will ensure that Maurice not only survives but can live life again to the fullest. I am pleading with everyone and anyone from the bottom of my heart. If you know me or don’t know me to please donate ANY amount that you can. I pray that no one experiences this type of shock and pain. We hope with the cutting edge research and state of the Art surgery methods at Cedar Sinai that we will be able to see my father live longer. I thank you all so much.
