Hello my name is Olivia and just over a moth ago I lost someone very special to me. In the five short weeks between his diagnosis and his death, he thought never of the difficulties he faced. Instead, he focused entirely on supporting the people he left behind. He lost his fight to liver cancer and in his last few weeks he stayed at the Rowans Hospice. The hospice did so much for him and his family and made him comfortable until the end. Rowans Hospice is a voluntary independent hospice which provides specialist palliative care to patients. Their dedication made such a difference to the family. Maurie was an amazing husband, father and grandpop and loved his family dearly. He was kind, thoughtful and the bravest man, right until the very end. So In honour of him I will be putting on a bake sale. I had the privilege of baking for him while he was alive, and I’ll be doing it again now in his memory.
