Maurice Henry Racing

This GoFundMe appeal has been inspired by Foila Group Ltd https://foila.co.uk/ who will be doing a walk up Mount Snowdon with Maurice Henry to raise money for his motor racing career, as he is part of the Foila Family. Here is the situation they observed which motivated them to encourage us to set up an appeal and have offered their support.

Maurice Henry is a young British racing driver who has been achieving against the odds in motor racing since he was 8 years old. Always racing on a slim budget, he's become a champion at all levels he's raced at. He’s a young, ambitious, talented youngster, determined to succeed in life to give back to his family for all the efforts they have put in since he was a child to support and fund his career and goal in life. Being crowned the 2024 Britcar Trophy Champion & Driver of the Year meant that he must take the major step up this year in order to work towards becoming professional. His father funds his racing but is now exhausted of all funds to help complete this crucial step to unlock opportunities for Maurice. With this appeal we are hoping to enable Maurice to complete his career development. Maurice has embraced the challenge to compete under the observation of McLaren in the McLaren Trophy Europe championship as part of the McLaren Young Driver Academy. In addition to this, Maurice demonstrates the attributes to be an ambassador and motivator for other young talents to strive for their goals. He has received awards for his determination and achievements that inspire his vast range of followers across a wide demographic.

Maurice's racing has been funded by his father Cecil since he was 8 years old and in recent years. They have managed to get some sponsorship onboard to supplement their self-funding. Maurice's natural talent excels at a rate that is difficult for Cecil to keep up with. However, at this crucial stage, the costs are now beyond the reach of Cecil who has nothing left to sacrifice to ensure that Maurice can complete the championship season.

For Maurice, this is not just racing, it's the career he has been developing both as a competitor as a racing driver and as an inspirational coach. Maurice is already coaching teenagers in karting, inspiring them to follow in his footsteps. He is also working towards coaching young drivers in their transition from karting to car racing and is working towards coaching other racing drivers. To establish his career, it is crucial for him to complete his racing season at this level in order to:

1. Maximise his opportunities to race under McLaren's observation

2. Maximise his race miles and experience on his race licence, on his path towards becoming professional.

3. Maximise his race experience to enable him to upgrade his coaching licence

Otherwise, his personal investment since he was 8 years old will have come to nothing.

Having completed over half the racing season with the funds they raised. we are supporting this GoFundMe appeal to pay towards the expenses to complete the remaining two rounds of the championship. This includes the race team’s fees to provide the race car, engineers and transportation, to enable Maurice to compete, which is his audition on this stage for his future. Without this, the car cannot run at the remaining two rounds of the championship at the Nürburgring, Germany and Paul Ricard, France. Also, Maurice’s travel and accommodation expenses for to attend. Plus the damage incurred by another driver at the last round. This amounts to Maurice needing £30,000 to finish this season. Whilst it's quite a target, a donation of any size will help to achieve it.
