Maureen's Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Maureen Barnes is beautiful, active, smart and independent. She is an expert consultant in human resources, and most importantly the beloved wife of Durland Barnes.

On October 9th Maureen and Durland were in a motorcycle accident. Both sustained fractured skulls but miraculously were spared other substantial injuries.
Durland stayed overnight at the hospital, but was cleared to be released the next day with simple instructions to modify his activity.
Maureen's skull fracture was substantial. She experienced severe swelling and traumatic brain injury. Durland has been by her side day and night ever since.

Maureen's progress has been miraculous and shows great promise. She recognizes Durland, she is able to speak and participate in physical therapy, and she is bright and positive, even through this unimaginable challenge.
Their road ahead is long! And arduous! They are currently at The Shepherd Center, a rehabiitation facility for spine and brain injuries. When they return home, Maureen will most likely not be able to work, or drive, or go upstairs. Durland will need to care for her, remodel the downstairs of the house and manage to support them while being her sole caretaker.
Please show them your love and support by donating what ever you can. Every bit helps!!! You can donate using your name, or anonymously. And be sure to share on FaceBook if you're comfortable with that.
The funds will be used immediately for:
• Living expenses while Durland supports Maureen through her recovery at The Shepherd Center.
• Medical expenses beyond what insurance will cover.
• Remodeling the downstairs of their home so that Maureen has a bathroom and everything she needs on one floor.
As I am writing this on their behalf, I'm sure there are unimaginable challenges ahead that I haven't named.
This is one of those moments in life where family, friend and community truly make a difference.
Thank you!!!
Thank you for joining in the circle of healing to bring Maureen home and help them to continue to share their deep love for one another!
May Maureen's recovery surprise us all!!!!
With infinite gratitude
