Maui's Celebration of Life for Gabe Mott
Donation protected
Aloha Friends and Family of Gabriel Mott,
As you all know, Gabe was a lover of Maui, his home for 10 creative years. His Maui ohana wants to honor him and his profound influence on his community by organizing his colorful Celebration of Life on the island.
The memorial will be a 2-day gathering at Camp Olowalu on the westside from April 29th-May 1st, 2023 and is open to his friends and family for any length of time. We'd like to start raising funds for the venue, art supplies, food and libations, and musical entertainment for the event. Any extra donations that exceed our goal, will go towards future memorials for Gabe in other parts of the world.
In the words of our brother Gabe,
"My favorite thing about the human experience is connection with people."
Our friend Laceyloo recently wrote the following words describing Gabe,
"A bright light went out in the world. He left in peace, with a smile on his face and a legacy rich in art, service, & love…although for those of us in relationship with him, it’s hard to imagine that it ends here.
Gabriel Mott was intimate, he showed up for the tough conversations, & for many of us, he was one of the safest relationships we’ve ever known. He was beautiful, magical, uniquely & powerfully himself. He was fun AF, teasing dance and movement from the grumpiest of places. He existed in dimensions all his own. He was an artist, but his life was art. The way he spoke, loved, showed up, & stayed curious. The way he moved and spoke was a painting.
He was deeply loved & his absence will change us. And, if he has anything to do with it, hopefully it will bring us together."
