Maui Wildfire Fundraiser by Coto de Caza
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Gordon Chow and I am the Club Manager for Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club.
As you may have seen, the wildfires in Maui have been devastating. I moved to California from Hawai’i in August of 2019. Maui was my home for a good portion of my life.
There have been several employees who families and friends have been affected by the fires. Being so far away from home, we wanted to do what we can to help rebuild the lives of those affected.
Coto de Caza’s Executive Chef, Kyle Higa, Restaurant Director, Creston Mercado are both from Hawai’i. Our Member Experience Director Britany lived in Maui for a short period. Others affected include our Banquet Director Ed Ramos at Bear’s Best in Las Vegas who has family from Lahaina.
The fires have affected all our friends and family with many having to evacuate their homes, having lost them and everything they had in the fires.
The outpouring of love, donations and support from members who attended Coto’s Luau this past Saturday were overwhelming. It defined the meaning of ‘Ohana, family, the community and the spirit of aloha that we all have grown up with in Hawai’i.
The fundraiser has now grown, and our sister properties are getting involved. Old Ranch in Seal Beach and Granite Bay in Sacramento, California and Bear’s Best and Canyon Gate in Las Vegas, Nevada all have upcoming events and the aloha continues to grow through our properties with efforts to increase this fundraiser and donations.
The fires have been devastating beyond anyone’s imagination, and every dollar counts with these funds going directly to those affected by this tragic event to ensure they get the help and assistance that they need.
If you have ever lived, visited, have memories, or if you have friends and family affected on Maui please consider donating.
For you who have donated, thank you, we are forever grateful. For those that want to still donate we will be leaving this link open.
Aloha and mahalo nui loa! ❤️
