Aloha everyone! My name is Tihane DeRego, and I am the Hawai'i project coordinator for The Returning Youth Initiative stationed on the Big Island at 120 Keawe St. Suite 204J, Hilo, Hawai’i 96720. I have created this GoFundMe page to let everyone know how serious I am about helping the people of Lahaina and Kula, those who were affected by the Maui wildfire. As the project coordinator of the Maui Wildfire Assistance Program for the organization, I will be providing direct assistance to restore the lives of Maui citizens. Dr. Khanna, the founder of the Returning Youth Initiative, Serena June Clegg, Robert Tanko, Ivan Jimenez, Kari Anderson, and Mosese Ohia are assisting me in this special project and are dedicated to restoring the native Hawaiian culture.
The Maui Wildfire Assistance Program intends to respond to the immediate needs of the wildfires that erupted on Maui on Aug. 8. Which sadly has become the deadliest natural disaster in state history. Our mission is to donate directly to the communities on Maui that have been hardest hit by recent events. Funding will support evolving needs, including, shelter, food, and financial assistance. Along with accommodating different businesses such as restaurants, and hospitality workers displaced by the wildfires. Additionally, our law firm is phenomenal and stands by fire victims. We offer assistance to pursue legal action against entities responsible for the fire. As well as, navigating FEMA and government claims including SBA low-interest loans, and ensuring a receipt of maximum owed insurance benefits.
Your donation enables my team and I to prepare for, respond to, and help people recover from this disaster. As a fellow native Hawaiian, this project means a lot to me, and I'd like to personally mahalo everyone for your support!
