Maui took one for the team

I hope everyone is doing well. My name is Kerri Harrington and I am reaching out to you all to tell you about Maui's incident the other day on July 14th.

I would like to start off telling you about Maui, he is a year and a half, Long haired Mini Dachshund. A very loving, playful and energetic puppy. My two nieces Juliette and Natalyn adore him, I wish you could see how they hugged him and the amount of love Maui gave back. All the smiles and laughs Maui has given those girls is irreplaceable.

On July 14th, as my brother Chris and his family were cleaning up some tree branches and the girls were playing. Maui approached a tree branch  because he sensed something was wrong and as he came closer a 5 foot rattle snake sprung and bit Maui in his face.

As of today Maui has received two doses of antivenom and is now on blood transfusions for his blood cell count to increase. In retrospect, a normal dog blood cell count is 40 and his as of today is 18. He is now anemic.

This is an unexpected incident, I am asking you to please donate towards his veterinary bills and to help get Maui back to his family. Anything is much appreciated. Thank you.
