Maui High School Athletics

Hello, and thank you for considering helping me out. I asked our coaches (Tonganoxie High School) to gather up practice gear and clothing to help the athletic department at Maui High School which was recently devastated by the wildfires.

The coaches responded as I expected them to! But, the guy spearheading this (yours truly) can sometimes paint himself in a corner. So here I am paving a path to Hell with good intentions! The shipping costs, when quoted on the first box, caused the utterance of explicatives from not only the guy on the customer side of the counter, but also the helpful woman on the official side of the Formica fortification.

So, let’s pass the digital hat. Whatever is raised above and beyond the required monies to ship, will be donated to Maui High School to help rebuild their programs.

Should this snowball on me, and people give generously enough to afford it, I would be willing to collect further items to ship. I mean I am already in this deep, why stop digging now?!

UPDATE: We have raised enough to cover the costs already (2 hours). But, I have heard from others about collecting more items, so I have upped the goal to cover more boxes of stuff. And, remember any additional funds will go directly to them to rebuild their programs.

UPDATE 2: 11 hours in and over goal two. I have already been told there are about the same number of items to send again. So I am gathering those up. Please continue to donate, and let me know if you have items to send. Keep this rolling, I appreciate you all!

SHIPPING UPDATE 1: The first nine boxes have been shipped! Here is an updated financial sheet. That is a LOT of clothing, and the savings on Pirateship.com were substantial. I am gathering more clothing for a second shipment, the remainder of the balance will be donated to Maui High School, so feel free to continue to help out. Thank you in advance.

SHIPPING UPDATE 2: Someone very generously donated two boxes of knee and ankle braces which will be dropped off for shipment today. This is exactly what they are needing! Still gathering more clothing items as well for a third shipment later this week. Thank you all for the donations, as you can see, it has been almost $1,000 in shipping fees even with the discounted rate. If you have athletic items to donate, please reach out to me so we can make sure they need them, and then get them out the door ASAP.
