08/28/2023 Update: News has been coming in from the properties. Many of the staff who lost homes are set up with temporary housing or staying with family. I unfortunately received a message this weekend from one of our staff that he found out his mother did not make it. That was really hard to hear. This is very real and they could really use our help. This is a long road to recovering. Please continue sharing!

Hello, my name is Bri Kenny and I am collecting donations on behalf of members of the agronomy/golf course maintenance community that were impacted by the Maui fires. Multiple agronomy staff at Kapalua and Ka'anapali have lost their homes and family so I wanted to create a way for the turf community and beyond to support them. I work with the staff at Kapalua and Ka'anapali which was the motivation for starting this. However, if we find out staff at other courses on Maui that were affected we can add them to the donation list.

I will share details about the individual stories if I can, but I want to remain respectful of their privacy and give them a chance to grieve and process since it is still unfolding. In the meantime, I want to start collecting funds so we have them ready to distribute as soon as we can. I will also provide updates on the funds collected and how we will distribute them so everyone who donates can be assured we are getting the funds directly to the ones in need.
