Hello family and friends. Brian and I have some amazing news to share. Some of you may remember that nearly a year ago, Brian and I posted that we were ready to embark on a new adventure. We made the decision to have a baby through IVF with a gestational carrier.

Not going to lie, it’s been a whirlwind of emotions. After one evening of talking, we were both very pleasantly surprised when we realized we both felt the same way about having a child. I can imagine when we began sharing this information, it was a bit of a shock for most of you too. We then learned that we could still have our own genetic baby and started down the tough road of finding the right person to help this hope of ours come true.

Moving ahead with this commitment is going to present a few challenges but we are determined to complete our family. We did the research and reached out to family, friends, and support groups to find someone right for us that could make our dreams a reality. We lucked out when we found a wonderful person to share in our journey.  Tiffany Locke Coughlan (Tiffany Sue) or as Brian likes to call her, our “Easy Bake Oven” has offered to be our carrier.

We couldn’t be happier and we’ll forever be grateful for her selfless act in helping us expand our family. I love being a Fur Mama more than anything, but I am so ready and enthusiastic to be a Baby Mama. Brian is also overjoyed at the idea of being a Dad, and I have no doubt will be wonderful at it. We are thankful, certainly elated, and admittedly a little scared to take on parenthood, but we are more than ready to do this! I mean, let’s be honest who doesn’t want to see us attempt parenting!

Turns out IVF is quite costly. Hell, kids in general are expensive…and noisy… and needy… and of course stinky. Yet, we want nothing more than to have one of our own. We have covered the Management Case fee of over $3,000, so we are ready to move forward. With that said, we are still in need of $12,000 more for the egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and the rest of the process. This is something we cannot comfortably do alone.

Most of you know that we are determined people, who won’t give up and will stop at nothing to accomplish our goal. Both of us are proud individuals and reaching out like this and asking for help is one of the most difficult things we have had to do. The fact is, we need help, and we are reaching out in hopes that our friends and family will be willing to donate just a little. It’s a corny phrase, but that doesn’t make it any less true: it takes a village.

Thank you for taking the time to read and share our story and helping however you can. We love and appreciate every one of you.
