Hello everyone! Our friend Blessing needs help paying off her medical bills. She called 911 for the first time in her life to deal with a medical emergency, and now has to pay the bills out of pocket. She has no OHIP since she’s on an open work permit and is not currently eligible to receive health insurance.

Blessing is a published writer and activist who moved to Canada during the pandemic on her own, for a masters degree at the University of Guelph. She would also like to add that having to come out with a cup and ask for alms whenever something unexpected happens, has been one of her biggest fears, and 2024 in its cheeky malevolence has made it happen.

Blessing is an incredibly kind, funny and genuine person, and we feel so lucky to be able to know her and have her in our lives. She’s also a deeply supportive friend to the community she’s found here in Toronto. If you’re able to support her today, please do - no contribution is too small!
