We dream one day walk out of home, literally walk out , all together.
Matvey is a 10 year old non-walking poly-handicapped kid.
Cerebral Palsy from childhood.
One of triplets.
Three months after hip joints surgery Matvey decided to try walking. And liked it so much!
Then after two months of Matvey's exercising in walking along the bars, physiotherapist offered to try Swiss Thomy-walker.
Thomy-Walker is not a robo technique, it only slightly supports walking and gives the child a sense of stability. It is like a pre step for ordinary walkers.
So we organised specialist's visit, Thomy-walker was tuned specifically for Matvey and Matvey simply stood up and walked.
It was amazing.
So, Thomy-walker company kindly offered us to leave this device for the first three months and try it more with physiotherapist.
If we can gather money for it, so we will just keep it and develop in walking further. If not we will returned it back to the company.
But three months for Matvey is definitely not enough.
Matvey was born in Moscow, Russia, but last 4 years he lives in a small village in Switzerland. Since there are no respective agreements between Russia and Switzerland, Swiss invalid insurance does not cover any expenses related to Matvey's handicap. Thus these are the parents who have to bear all the related costs.
And meanwhile the list of Matvey's needs is not that short:
- a wheel-chair for active driving, old is small.
- a verticalizer / standing is important in several ways at once: verticalization is important for the digestive system, psychologically, for the correct load on the hip joints, without which they cannot develop normally.
- a special auto seat for the car
- an equipment for the bathroom
and many other things including the rehabilitation in specialized center once a year and speech therapist with active communication program.
For now it is Swiss Thomy-Walker, 9500 CHF, a year of its maintenance, 2000 CHF.
And we hope that one day we can help somebody else
