Dartmouth Triathlon for JoeWild
Donation protected
In a couple of weeks time, a team of us (Anna, Ishbel, Ed, Joaquín, Amber, Izzy and Josh) are doing the dartmouth triathlon to raise money for JoeWild!
This charity was set up by our amazing bestmate Matty Horkan ❤️
The purpose of JoeWild is to organise and facilitate activities for people (young people in particular and people with disabilities) to reconnect with nature for the betterment of their own lives, their mental health and the planet. It's named after Matty's younger brother Joe- who unfortunately passed away at 13.
Very sadly, on 18th March 2023, (just after Matty launched JoeWild) he suffered a "complete" spinal cord injury at C6/7 whilst volunteering for a conservation charity in Tenerife. He's been paralysed from the chest down as a result and is still in hospital but hoping to come out soon. Matty has now built a small team around JoeWild and when Matty is home and settled we are hoping to launch officially.
We've all got such a bright vision for JoeWild- and the huge role nature can have in people's lives- if given access.
This is all of our first triathlon- so a real challenge but one we are stoked for!!!
Any donations to JoeWild are greatly appreciated- it's truly a wonderful cause. We will be completing the triathlon on the 8th June xx
