Matty has always been the heart of our family, dedicating himself to caring for others even while facing his own health battles.
In January of 2025, Matt was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis-a rare, chronic blood cancer. Despite undergoing treatment, the disease has progressed rapidly, leaving him unable to continue the work he’s done for neighbors for over a decade—cutting lawns, fall cleanups, and snow maintenance. The recent, unexpected loss of our oldest sibling, Kevin, in February 2026 has only added to the emotional and financial strain on the household.
For more than twenty years, Matt has been the primary caretaker for our family of origin. He cared for Kevin, who had Multiple Sclerosis, for Stephen, and for our elderly mother. He was also caretaker for our father, Terry, through his long battle with Alzheimer’s until his passing in 2020. All the while, Matt has managed his own disabilities and endured over a dozen surgeries for Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and osteonecrosis. Through it all, he’s kept a grateful heart and unwavering faith, always putting others first.
Now, as Matt faces the toughest challenge yet, the financial stress is becoming overwhelming. Our family has come together to help as much as we can, but our resources are running low. Funds raised will go toward Matt’s medical bills, daily living expenses, transportation to and from treatment, and rising utility costs. Most importantly, your support will give Matt the chance to focus on his health and, hopefully, regain enough strength for a bone marrow transplant before that window closes.
Please know that any assistance you can lend—whether it’s monetary, sharing this story, or sending prayers and encouragement to Matty—will be forever appreciated. We understand everyone has their own obligations, and we are deeply grateful for your kindness. We hope to return the favor if you or your loved ones are ever in need.
So Much Love,
-The Sullivan Family
