Welcome to Matty’s GoFundMe. As many of you know our Matt was recently diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, that they believe to be around stage III. He is about to start his 6 month chemotherapy treatment under the supervision of an incredible care team at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston MA
Up until his 30th birthday, Matt and Katie have been preparing to move into their new home together, and began searching for a Bernese Mountain Dog to complete this next chapter.
About 3 days after celebrating his birthday, he began feeling extreme fatigue and developed a cough. He was seen by his primary care at Mass General with the possibility of Covid, where they did a rapid test that showed to be positive. Because of this, he was ordered a chest x-ray and blood work that gave the doctors information pointing towards cancer. By the next day Matt was coming back from the first of two biopsy’s with the news that it was more than likely Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
He has spent the majority of July in the hospital and will begin six months of chemotherapy next week.
Many of you have asked “what can we do to help?”
Prayers are first and foremost needed daily,
Lots and lots of Prayers.
With this diagnosis also comes the stress of costs for Medicine, hospitalizations, chemotherapy, and General needs to get him through the next 6 months of treatment, as Matt will be focusing all of his energy on fighting this cancer! We are hoping to raise enough to offset these costs and supplement the insurance, as well as monthly living expenses while he may be taking time away from work.
PLEASE keep Matt in your daily prayers and thanks to everyone for their incredible emotional support as well during this time.
