We have started this GoFundMe because of the overwhelming support of people moved by Matty's story.  Our goal was never to raise money, but as more and more families have asked to contribute, we wanted to set this up so they have that option.  All of the money will go to support Matty's tuition for her upcoming first year of college.  To be clear, this is a one-time donation, there is no expectation to fund the scholarship over the course of four years.



We received email after email from parents saying they can't wait to tell the Matty Stark Story to their kids before bed.  Little basketball girls writing Matty Stark #12 on their shoes and T-shirts.  So much love for one of the toughest young girls out there.



After we announced the $3,000 scholarship, we had two Elmhurst families want to give as well.  The Walsh family and the Baichtal family have now pushed the scholarship to $6,000.  Again, our goal was never to raise money, but the outpour of support has been truly moving.

Unfortunately, Matty's worst fears were confirmed yesterday with her 4th ACL tear.  But If you listen to Matty in the video, you will see she remains as positive and optimistic as ever.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to learn about Matty.  Sometimes all we need is a new perspective to really start appreciating what we have and who we have in our lives.
