My name is Lauren and the love of my life Matt, had a stroke early in the morning, a couple weeks ago, unable to use his body, and extremely confused, He was airlifted to the Kelowna General Hospital where he began receiving treatment. He had a clot on the right side of his brain, and though they couldn’t give him clot busters, they monitored it carefully and began blood thinners to help the body dislodge it itself.
He is making great recovery and while he is home now we have a a long journey ahead before he’s back on his feet and is back working.
we really were not expecting this (obviously) but especially in the dead of winter. Being in rural a rural area we are struggling to get a plow for the driveway as well as having to get help to get around to do basic things like groceries and Matt’s medications.
along with our new expenses (meds, plow, gas, groceries) we have unexpected ones like the ambulance bill and now the cold snap wrecked the battery in the truck, forcing us to get a new one to ensure a reliable vehicle for us/people to get us around.
with Matt being our main bread winner, and it being near impossible to get a job now having to care for him and being home, I’m unable to do work for extra income.
we are asking, hoping, praying that anyone will be willing to help us out in this time.
anything helps!
please and thank you to all you read our story and helping/helped us out through this trying times!
