My name is Matt, a pretty average beginner runner and I’m a father of 4 (technically 5 - I’ll explain after). I’m the kind of person who likes to do pretty crazy things and push myself to the limit. On August 26th last year I turned 40 years old and chose to celebrate by taking the day off work and running a solo half marathon, which I successfully completed in a little over 3 hours. This year I’ve decided to do another crazy thing and 3 days after my 41st birthday I’ve decided to run a full marathon, but this time I don’t want to do it for nothing. I decided to pick a charity that means something to me and raise money for it, that’s where Bridget’s Bunnies comes in. I Googled “charity’s for stillborn babies” and theirs was the first to come up, plus they’re Canadian! On June 27, 2011 my daughter Natalia was a stillborn at 28 weeks. Hardest thing I’ve ever been thru in my life and that day changed me. The fact that they help support people going through the same thing, it would be my honour to do my part to help their cause! The run is taking place on August 29th on a track at a high school down the street from my house in Brampton. People are welcome to come out, run a lap with me and show support! All money raised is going directly to them. God bless the people at Bridget’s Bunnies for what they do!
