Our beloved Matthew Joseph Nesbitt needs your help!

It was another typical night in the heart of San Diego at QUALCOMM Stadium, where the San Diego State Aztecs were about to take on the Stanford Cardinal. However, this game was no typical game for the Aztecs. As History would have it, Saturdays are for the boys so why should this night be any different? The boys of the east, including our friend Matthew, were in full effect as the Aztecs were about to take what would be one of their greatest victories in history.
The intensity of the crowd roaring a victorious roar, I look to my left and he is gone. I catch a glimpse as he slips through the railing. many voices warning him of the drop. His determination was too high, not a single person or thing was going to break his stride. Unwavering, unscathed, unbothered. I look down as he looks up at me, his eyes glazed in the glory that is about to befall him. As much as I wanted to stop him because I knew what awaited him, I also knew that the magnitude of what he was doing far outweighed any pain that he might feel. That’s the type of person he is, a jump first ask questions later kind of guy. Always putting State first. As he let go of the railing I heard him mutter in a barely audible faint whisper……. ”everything I do, I do it for you”. he loved State, and when you love something you will do anything to protect its glory.
I flash back to the lion king when Mufasa falls off the cliff at the hands of his brother Scar. he looks up at me through beer stained eyes.
“this is my destiny” he yells as he hangs from the cold metal railing. To tell you the truth, I believed him. He will be forever remembered and he knows it. He is a lion. prideful and true. As he lets go of the cold metal railing I can’t unhear the words that this true warrior had spoken. But, that is neither here nor there. As he dismounts he is in the air for what seemed like a glorious eternity. Finally, as he slams the ground ankles and butt first he winces in pain. He knows something has gone seriously wrong, but he cannot let the Aztec Nation know that there is pain or weakness within him. He stands tall on his two broken ankles which takes every ounce of strength that he has in his body. He then manages to walk all the way to the middle of the field to greet his beloved Aztec family. Inside Matthew is succumbing to his injuries and he can feel his legs begin to quiver and shake, but you would never know from the smile on his face. He manages to make his way to the center of the Aztec team where everyone stops to witness greatness as it happens. Matthew drops to one knee and lets out one final battle cry of “I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN”, before his body gives out and he collapses among his Aztec brothers. He will forever remain a legend in the heart of all true Aztec fans. but as glory is forever so are medical bills, Matt needs your help. will you be a lion for him like he was for you?

Below is the actual footage of the Aztec warrior himself

Aside from the bill from the hospital for 2 night of for care and monitoring, our friend Matt will also be looking at 6 weeks of recovery wheelchair-bound.  Not to mention, possible surgery and a pricey physical therapy road to recovery.  He lives for this team and right now his living will be limited but his passion for The San Diego Aztecs will remain limitless.

Whether you feel sorry for him,  are proud of him, or just outright support what he did for state, anything will help and go directly to him and his family in their time of need. Thank you
