Hi everyone, my name is Sara and I am here to tell you about the love of my life.

Thursday night our lives were flipped upside down when my husband, Matthew Lester, started having some chest discomfort that we thought were gas pains. We took him to the ER after a scary blood pressure reading and ended up being transported to Pikeville Medical Center via ambulance due to a heart attack.

PMC did a heart cath and discovered the scariest blockages possible. His widow maker was 100% blocked, one other artery was 90% blocked and the other 70% blocked.

They immediately scheduled him for open heart surgery for a quadruple bypass. He goes in tomorrow (Tuesday, June 3rd) for this surgery.

This was a complete and total shock to us because Matt has always been healthy as a horse. He’s never had anything aside from some mild anxiety and thyroid problems. He goes to the doctor regularly and has regular lab work every six months that has been perfect.

Matt is only 41 years old and is my entire world. We have a family and he is the backbone of our family. He’s the hardest working man I know. He has the biggest heart and loves so deeply. We’ve been married for almost 14 years and he has always been my rock.

I was involved a terrible accident several years ago and Matt never once left my side. He nursed me from near death back to health and treats me and our girls like royalty. So now it’s my turn and I’m trying to do everything I can think of to lighten his load and stress level.

I’m unable to be at work right now because I’ll not leave his side. So any help you have to offer helps.

I just want to add this at the end for any of our Jesus following friends but our pastor spent the day with us at the hospital today and Matt accepted the Lord into his heart, has repented of his sins and been saved.

The cardio thoracic surgeon doing Matt’s open heart surgery is a strong man of God and a pastor himself. So we are confident that the Lord and Dr. Deel have this under control.

We were blessed enough to get to go to the chapel and listen to Dr. Deel preach just a short while ago. So please we beg you to pray for Matt and the surgery team.
