Matthew “Matt” Mark Rivera, Jr. tragically and unexpectedly passed away on December 4, 2024 at the age of 35.

Since a young age he was known for being adventurous. He enjoyed the outdoors and many recreational activities throughout his short life. Matt was also extremely creative and well known for his fantastic art work and musical skills. His artistic talent captured viewers’ attention immediately when they saw his detailed sketches, immersive designs, and professionally crafted wall murals.

Matt found the love of his life, Cassandra “Cassie” Juell, while living and working in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Their promising friendship transpired into a truly unique and passionate love for each other. He proposed atop the world-famous ferris wheel near the Louvre museum in Paris, France on January 2, 2022. They were married in May of 2022 and continued their life together in Albuquerque, New Mexico, until July 2024 when they moved to San Antonio, Texas in search of a better future.

At the young age of 31, Cassie became a widow. Her world remains shattered and her heart still broken. She’s not only dealing with the devastating reality that she will never see, talk to, or hold her husband again; but she’s also facing medical debt. Matt acquired numerous hospital bills in the days leading up to his passing. We have decided to set up this fundraiser to help with these expenses in order for Cassie to be able to heal without these expenses burdening her.
