Matt's Heart Surgery ❤

No one really thinks "heart attack" at the age of 49 or of losing their parent or husband so early in life, and there is no world where we can imagine in which he is not in it.  That said, Matt unexpectedly had a heart attack while at home recently.  Initially he thought it was just a very intense case of heartburn, but the chest pain returned and wasn't going away so he went into the emergency room.  An EKG and angioplasty were performed and they determined that the left anterior descending artery (LAD) was 99% clogged, along with the two other arteries at 80%.  After everything was said and done, he ended up having emergency quadruple bypass surgery on March 11th, 2021.  

He is required to take 4-6 weeks off work for recovery, in addition to doing cardiac therapy for some period.  Some, but not all, of this will be covered by insurance but the 5-day hospital stay, and the cost of the heart doctor and cardiac surgery is proving to be extremely expensive.  His wife, Jessica, recently had surgery that required her to be out of work, without pay, for a month and she has taken additional time without pay to help him with his initial recovery at home. 

For those reasons we are asking for help so that financially this doesn't become an overwhelming burden to add on top of an already intense and stressful time.  Anything you can do to help is truly appreciated!
