Hi Everyone,
Matt Gonzales has been a farrier in our community for decades. He is beloved by customers and horses alike. Our horses are his horses. He has kept unsound horses comfortable, physically challenged horses competitive, and shown tenderness and care for those aged and infirm horses. He's been a friend to all, listening and giving advice like a discreet bartender. Our goals become his goals. If it's in his power to help, he will, without hesitation. He's a horseman and a friend, and now he needs some lifting up.
On May 25, Matt was diagnosed with leukemia. He is expected to be in the hospital at Georgetown for at least a month undergoing treatment. His family is with him and he is in good spirits.
Until we have more definitive information on his condition and prognosis, we are starting this Go Fund Me to raise enough money to cover his lost income for his month in the hospital and for a month in recovery. Any extra will go towards out of pocket medical expenses. Any little bit of contribution will help.
