Mattie's Flood Fund Bayou Vermilion

Mattie Coffman is a 90 year old widow flooded completely out of her house on the Vermilion River in Lafayette Louisiana. The fire dept. rescued her as she lie floating on her back in 5-6 feet of water that flooded her bedroom and entire home. She remains hospitalized with hypothermia and skin rashes from the contaminated water of the bayou. We are blessed that she is still alive.

Her husband of 66 years died less than 3 months ago and Mattie is now without any place to live or even be housed. Her daughter's home was also flooded and they are living with her other daughter. Mattie needs help. She literally has nothing to her name but a hospital gown. We need to get her some safe shelter, fresh clothes and some assistance, please.

Her son, Mitchell Coffman, Ed.D. put together this gofundme-he is helping her clean up the disaster of her home in Lafayette. Any funds raised will go towards Mattie's immediate housing needs, hospital bills, clothing, medicine/prescriptions, and healthcare assistance. Mattie also suffers from Parkinson's Disease and is immobile. Her children are helping her as much as possible and more and appreciate all the kindness of others who love Mattie just as we love her. Mattie is a tough independent smart woman who needs your prayers and support. Please contribute what you can-everything is appreciated and we love you all. Thank you.
