Lead Balloon is a Freshman collaborative student film made by a crew of 12 hardworking and passionate filmmakers at SUNY Purchase. We're all very excited about production and making this important film, but may need your help!

Mattie Doran, the writer and director, tells a story that reminisces on childhood and captures the moments we experience as we take our first steps toward independence. Told through the perspective of a young girl as she teaches herself how to ride a bike.

Our film gives an outlook to the perspective of the child as she starts to lose her innocence and must make a choice that separates her from the caretaking from her father, or taking care of herself. This film will hit very personally for many, especially those who grew up in the early 2000s. We're so thrilled to have the opportunity to shoot and produce this film that means so much to us.
