On December 28th, Charles Matthew Humes known as Mattie to his wife and Matt to the rest of the world had gastric bypass surgery after doing 6 months of psychiatric and medical testing to prepare for the surgery. Matt’s surgeon was a good friend of his and graduated from high school together. After surgery- Matt started bleeding internally and his blood sugar was over 500. Matt coded in ICU and the doctors were able to bring him back. Matt had to have 32 units of blood given to him that night. During the code, Matt’s wife, Pam watched 10-15 people try to pump as much blood as they could into him. The first time she saw Matt- it did not look like him. He was swollen but she did not care because he was alive.
Pam is a hairstylist so if she does not work she does not get paid. Matt is a big part of the AT&T team and always considers us family. Let’s rally and help Pam continue to be by Matt’s side during this hard time. Matt and Pam have 3 sons as a blended family- twin 17 year old boys and another 17 year old son. Matt has a long road to recovery and anything helps. Thank you all for the support and Matt will sure appreciate it!
Your AT&T family is thinking of you always, Pam. Stay strong and get well soon Matt!
