My name is Jeni Wallace and I live in Yonkers.
My 17 year old son Matthew was killed by a Metro North train on September 29, 2013.
My beautiful Matty was the best boy you could ever know. Matthew was a senior at Mount St. Michael Academy and played Varsity football and lacrosse.
He was a boy scout, alter server, a leader, and above all a good person and friend to all.
His death devastated our family and community. As we wait for answers Matthew’s community family put together a walk in his honor to raise money for a scholarship in his name.
Last year we raised $10K, with 300 people in attendance and gave away 4 $2500.00 scholarships.
This year we want to award 22 scholarships (#22 was Matty’s number in all sports). We are hoping that between the Walk and support from Go Fund Me we will reach our goal and my Matthew will be remembered in a dynamic way.
